Welcome to Oddball Design Co.

Oddball Design Co. is the brainchild of Molli Ross. (That’s me). I’ve been working through this little career pivot of mine for the better part of a year and I’m very excited to get this baby going.

I kind of fell into this new endeavor by accident. Early this year, I was trying to update my website but my old brand just didn’t feel right. I had thrown it together at the time and it worked for awhile—but it didn’t feel like me anymore.

What began as, “I’ll just spruce up my color palette,” quickly evolved to, “F*#% it, I’m completely rebranding.”

The process of evolving from a lil freelancer going by my first and last name (not to mention the dilemma of having a new married name vs. keeping my maiden name), to a legitimate business owner has been equal parts exciting and terrifying. Change is always scary but I have to remind myself that I have great friends and clients who support me. So if you’re reading this, you’re likely one or the other—so thank you!

When I decided to rebrand, I sat down and put myself through my own branding process—the same process that I put all of my branding clients through:

1) I took a look at my business with fresh eyes and realigned with my goals.
2) I figured out the types of people and projects I want to work with.
3) I looked inward at myself and my personality and focused on some of my favorite traits to create a brand that aligns with who I am.

My biggest takeaway was that I have a lot of quirks, like anybody else. And instead of trying to hide or “perfect them,” I decided to embrace the weirdness.

I’m somewhere between an introvert and extrovert. I can be a chameleon and get along with anybody. I have a weird sense of humor and it takes a lot to offend me. I’m a little reserved and observant at first, but once I get comfortable I can talk for days. I’ve always been this way and have grown to embrace it. So when I wrote down the word, “oddball,” on my list of names, it felt right.

My “oddball” personality definitely bleeds into my design style and also allows for a unique perspective on creative problems and how to solve them.

At the end of the day, I want to connect with passionate people who appreciate the weirdness and work with them to create beautiful, functional designs that fit exactly what they need.

And Oddball Design Co. will allow me to do just that. I have a lot more planned for this business but, for now, I hope you enjoy the ride!
